Shipping, logistics & freight employees – considered essential in Lockdown
Employees across the UK who are employed to keep freight & cargo moving during the coronavirus pandemic have been classed as essential.
This means that they will be allowed to travel for work purposes and the children of logistics employees will be permitted to attend school, along with the children of keyworkers.
The logistics industry is of course vital to keep the country going through the lockdown, whether it be the movement of PPE, medical equipment, food & supplies or general goods for entertainment in these difficult times.
The role functions include; freight forwarders, import & export staff, haulage drivers, transport planners, port workers, warehouse staff & all other logistics employees. They all play avital role in helping us get through the pandemic, in which we are of course very grateful.
