Are you an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Quality professional looking to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading global shipping and logistics organisation, supporting operations at a major UK terminal facility.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised HSEQ Coordinator who is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality management. You’ll play a key role in supporting operational excellence, ensuring compliance with internationally recognised standards, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

Working closely with the HSEQ Manager, you’ll support all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across the Southampton operation. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines compliance, auditing, administration, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement activities.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple departments, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support both local and wider regional HSEQ activities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the HSEQ Manager with day-to-day HSEQ operations and compliance activities
  • Conduct audits, inspections and active monitoring across operational departments and facilities
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Support internal and external ISO audits, management reviews and document control processes
  • Maintain legal registers, environmental documentation and compliance records
  • Monitor and manage claims processes, investigations and reporting requirements
  • Produce HSEQ reports, KPI data and performance metrics
  • Support incident investigations and ensure appropriate reporting procedures are followed
  • Assist with environmental monitoring, including utility usage and environmental compliance
  • Review and maintain SOPs, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Coordinate HSEQ consumables, procurement activities and budget monitoring
  • Carry out facilities inspections and liaise with suppliers to ensure standards are maintained
  • Provide HSEQ advice and support to managers and employees across the business
  • Support regional HSEQ teams and deputise for the HSEQ Supervisor when required

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an organised and detail-focused HSEQ professional with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You’ll ideally have:

  • NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety qualification
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management qualification
  • ISO Auditor qualification
  • Membership of IOSH (or working towards)
  • Previous experience within an HSEQ, compliance or operational safety role
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • A flexible and collaborative approach
  • A full UK driving licence
