Insight day at DP World Southampton
Today, Steve was luckily enough to attend DP World Southampton’s insight day which consisted of a presentation on the port operations, both currently & in the future – including sustainability which seems very big on DP World’s agenda, which is good to see.
But for Steve, today was all about vessels, cranes, containers & straddle carriers and getting up close and personal with vessels and shipside operations on the port tour.
Steve commented ‘what a great day, meeting Southampton based freight forwarders, hauliers, importers & exporters, and seeing the great facilities / offices of DP World Southampton. I remember the old SCT building, things have improved somewhat.’ Steve continued ‘I am a real geek for all things shipping, freight forwarding, supply chain & logistics – so I will always be first in the queue for a port tour or ships visit.’
