About the Role:
 
We’re looking for a Traffic Operator to join a depot team in Felixstowe. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in the container transport industry who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and can confidently manage changing priorities.
 
You’ll be coordinating drivers, liaising with ports, monitoring timings, and helping ensure jobs are completed efficiently and accurately. It’s a hands-on role that requires strong communication, excellent organisation, and the ability to solve problems quickly.
 
What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Dealing with multiple drivers throughout the day
  • Communicating with ports
  • Booking delivery slots for port entry
  • Using the TOPS transport system to record driver start and finish times
  • Chasing drivers for ETAs and ensuring they remain on schedule
  • Rerouting jobs when required
  • Checking PODs are matched to the correct jobs on the system
  • Speaking with customers about possible delays and providing updates

What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Traffic Operator is essential
  • Confident and clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent UK geographical knowledge
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Quick and effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills
