Our client is a specialist in global yacht transportation. The company offers a personal transport service to anyone that needs to move their yacht or boat. A small team with huge experience understands all shipping requirements whether it be superyachts, small motor boats, shipping or air freighting spare parts as well as dealing with customs and insurance.

About the role:

Our client is seeking a Commercial Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with our clients. The Commercial Manager’s role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

The Commercial Account Manager’s responsibilities will include developing strong relationships with clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, with the objective to become a trusted supplier and valued service provider to the client.

  • This position will require frequent travel.  You will regularly attend the important Boat Shows around the world, visiting new and existing clients, agents, and suppliers
  • You will strive to learn and thoroughly understand the company’s capabilities within a very complex and competitive market, developing compelling narrative to present, promote and sell the Company’s services to support the client in making enquiries, orders, and bookings.
  • You will strive to learn, and fully understand the processes of transporting yachts. Tailoring proposals to meticulously meet the high demands of the client, whether that be self geared heavy lift ships, liner carriers on Roll on Roll off and/or container ships.
  • You will seek to work with existing clients to identify new opportunities to provide cost effective solutions for the transportation of the client’s products and equipment, this could range from a 40m Superyacht to miscellaneous marine freight.
  • You will build client relationships across their internal teams, including with the Owners and Senior Managers, Dealerships and Distributors, Client Partners, Sales and Marketing Teams, Customer Service and Product Development departments.
  • You will undertake regular market reviews to identify new clients, both corporate and individuals, including understanding their current transport and logistic situations and working to find an opportunity to provide a better overall service.
  • You will have a flare for fast and effective communication and be comfortable networking and engaging with people at all levels including attending client and supplier appointments and functions.  You will have a persuasive yet personable ability to comfortably close a deal.
  • You will be able to collaborate with the company’s Operations Team, to ensure that the client’s requirements are properly communicated to them. This includes using CRM software, entering client and booking information accurately and timely into the Company’s system, full training will be provided.
