Do you have vessel chartering experience, ideally out of gauge and looking for a 9-month contract role that could well be extended or even made permanent?
Our client a specialist yacht shipping and logistics company based in Southampton is looking to hire an experienced Vessel Operator to cover maternity leave.
The Role:
As Vessel Charter Operator you will be responsible for liaising with shipowners, shipbrokers, overseas offices and port agents.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Knowing and understanding the different actors and intermediaries of the shipping industry
- Experience in dealing with and solving transport with Claims
- Experience in reading and understanding charter parties
- Experience with reading stowage plan
- Solid experience in demurrage calculations ( based on our voyage charter party)
- Liaise with the client to gain technical details
- Liaise with technical team to arrange asset delivery to and from port
