Business Development Manager

Our client is a global freight forwarder that are looking to add to their team in Southampton Do you have solid commercial experience gained within the freight forwarding industry? Are you confident building new relationships and bringing new business on board? If the answer is yes, then this is a fantastic opportunity with a well-established and respected company.

The Role:

In this role you will have full responsibility for identifying potential customers, approaching & tendering, and ultimately bringing new business onboard, whilst managing a sales pipeline. You will be set goals and developing plans for business growth, researching new customers for freight forwarding services You need to arrange business meetings with prospective customers and understand their logistics needs, identify key opportunities, and attend trade exhibitions / events.

The Successful candidate will need to compile and present competitive multimodal pricing solutions to customers, plus meet, and exceed set agreed sales targets and maintain a good network of existing and potential customers.

. Essential Criteria:

  • Previous Shipping experience – Freight Forwarding
  • Proven sales / commercial background
  • Excellent time management administration and planning skills
  • Full driving licence
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service and IT skills

About the Company:

Our client based in Southampton, with a supportive management structure in place.

Salary & Benefits:

Our client is looking to pay between £35k – £60k for the right candidate, plus commission-based bonus scheme, company car allowance and pension scheme.
