Vessel / Ships Agent
Are you an experienced ships agent, looking to make your next career move and join a large, well established, global shipping line?
The Role:
Primarily you will be responsible for working within a team, ensuring the safe & efficient delivery of Port Agency activities to the company’s large fleet of vessels calling at Southampton.
You will be responsible for the safe arrival & turnaround of vessels, dealing with various port authorities, arranging pilotage and berthing space. Managing immigration compliance and dealing with any needs of the ships captain & crew in the way of medical appointments or assisting in replenishing ships stores.
You will also be responsible for manifesting cargo, processing Customs entries and managing releases and shipping documentation.
Essential Criteria:
- Full British Driving Licence
- Previous experience in Vessel Agency/Husbandry role,
- Able to be flexible with working hours, including weekends & Bank Holidays
- Good attention to detail
- A ‘can do’ attitude

Salary & Benefits:
This company is looking to pay a competitive salary of around £28,500k, depending on experience.
Candidates will need to be flexible with working hours, as you will be required to work out of hours / weekends as part of team rota, to cover vessel arrivals & departures 24/7. The successful candidate would work on rotation between deep sea, short sea and then a floating week.
