Our client specialises in global procurement, import/export and supply chain management. Their customer base is very diverse and we serve companies involved in mining, oil & gas, agriculture, manufacturing and construction.

A fantastic opportunity has opened up within their Shipping Department for a Logistics Co-ordinator to join their dynamic and growing team on a permanent basis.

The Role:

  • Co-ordinating local and international shipments including air, sea, road and courier for incoming and outgoing freight
  • Building relationships and negotiating rates with freight forwarders
  • Arranging shipments from the warehouse via air, sea and courier
  • Assisting with warehousing including checking and packing orders (ad-hoc)
  • Producing appropriate shipping documentation
  • Liaising with end clients and providing order status reports and pre-alerts
  • Updating client shipment portal with essential shipping documents

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of shipping documents including Air Waybills and Bills of Lading
  • Understanding of Incoterms
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident and clear communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Salary & benefits:

The company is paying an attractive salary of around £25K, plus 1K annual bonus, 28 days holiday including bank holidays and pension. Free parking.
