General Manager – Freight Forwarding

Do you have extensive freight forwarding experience at senior management level?  Have you achieved all you can in your current role and now looking for a new challenge where you will report directly to the board of Directors? The Role:

You will be responsible for managing all day-to-day operations of the Freight Forwarding business at strategic level (c£15M turnover). You will have full P+L and budgeting responsibility and full autonomy to run & grow the forwarding division.

In addition to managing the operations process, you will be tasked with implementing better working practices / procedures and making the operation more efficient. Good people management and the ability to motivate & get the best out of people is a key requirement for this role.

ISO/AEO compliance & regulation knowledge would also be advantageous.

  • Previous senior management experience
  • Previous Freight Forwarding experience
  • Managing a team
  • Commercial awareness & strategic thinker
  • Good communication skills

Salary & Benefits:

This company is looking to pay a very competitive package for the right candidate between £60K & £80K. Benefits include expensed company car/ car allowance, pension & life insurance. The core hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, but of course can vary depending on the need of the business.
