Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

Do you have solid commercial experience gained within the freight forwarding industry? Are you confident building new relationships and bringing new business on board? If the answer is yes, then this is a fantastic opportunity with a well established and respected company based in Portsmouth

The Role:

In this role you will have full responsibility for identifying potential customers, approaching & tendering, and ultimately bringing new business onboard, whilst managing a sales pipeline. You will be set goals and developing plans for business growth, researching new customers for freight forwarding services plus attending conferences for the industry events. The successful candidate will need to arrange business meetings with prospective customers and build long term relationships with new and existing customers

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous freight forwarding experience, minimum of three years experience
  • Proven sales / commercial background
  • Full driving licence
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service and IT skills

About the Company:

Our client based in Portsmouth, with a supportive management structure in place.

Salary & Benefits:

Our client is looking to pay between £45k – £55k for the right candidate, plus 10% commission based bonus scheme, company car and pension scheme
